What is the Citadelles du Vin Contest ?

Organized by Concours des Vins in Bourg, its mission is to promote the diversity and quality of high-end wines from around the world. Each year, more than 50 international tasters, oenologists and wine professionals come together to select the best wines from more than 1,200 samples coming from some 30 countries.

What do you think enabled Astrolabe to win this international award ?

The 2011 and 2012 vintages have already been rewarded in this contest, so it's no longer a coincidence. Astrolabe Malbec is a modern Cahors, but is nevertheless authentic to the region from which it comes. This is a high-end wine, particularly concentrated and whose tannins have been well coated by subtle ageing in new barrels.

So, in my opinion, it is this finesse and subtlety that made the difference to the jury.
