Research & Development programme
Sans Culotte is a product resulting from work carried out for the VINOSULFITE research and development program. The aim of this programme is to develop new alternative solutions to sulphites using bio-sourced molecules with interesting anti-oxidant and antiseptic properties.
In parallel to this fundamental research, Vinovalie worked on fine-tuning its vinification processes to create its first red Gaillac with no added sulphites, using the technical expertise of our vine growers and oenologists to guarantee the wine was protected at every stage of the process. Our winemakers and oenologists used their expertise to select each plot and each blend to obtain wines revealing the richness of the region and the primary qualities of South West grape varieties. This range without added sulphites includes airy wines which are fresh and delicate to be served without fuss.
Sans Culotte is born out of this approach and is the first revolution created by our R&D program.
What is a wine without added sulphites ?
Sulphites are sulphur-derived compounds that help preserve wine and protect it from oxidation. The only traces of SO2 in Sans Culotte are those that naturally develop during alcoholic fermentation. The vinification and ageing of this range require extreme, daily monitoring by Vinovalie staff.
