Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA)
The Decanter World Wine Awards event is internationally renowned as the most prestigious wine competition in the world. Over a week of rigorous tastings, 240 240 of the most respected wine experts come together for the Awards.
The wines are grouped by category and are blind-tasted. Each wine is judged separately and the judges’ comments are compared to collectively agree on the medal to be awarded (Recommended, Bronze, Silver or Gold) or not.
Each Gold medal winner is then tasted by the Regional Presidents to find the winner of the Regional Trophy.
All the Regional Trophy winners are then tasted a third time to find the International Trophy winner, the competition’s most coveted prize.
